Frequently Asked Questions
If you can't find the answer to what you are looking for, please contact support@vsmeinc.com. We love hearing from you!
VSME Grappling is an in-house jiujitsu competition circuit with a profit-sharing business model for school owners and performance statistics for competitors.
Each event gets you two assigned matches with similar sized and skilled opponents.
Move up our leaderboard based on points earned each match. Earn additional points with our trademark Call Out System which lets you get as many rolls as you can!
Think you can beat that upper belt? Call 'em out! Our scoring is based on belt/weight/gender difference - so you have nothing to lose, but so much to gain.
Every VSME user has a unique fighter profile displaying performance statistics.
These profiles have all your all scores, match outcomes, and are updated in real-time immediately after your match (except for video. Which takes some editing first.)
VSME Fighter Statistics
- Season Score (resets each season)
- Submission Rate (% of success for submissions)
- Victories (Number of matches won)
- VS Rating (The golden VSME metric. A rating score out of 100, benchmarked against all VSME users, where only the elite performers can reach the top. Can you?)
- VS Meter (Radial charts displaying efficiency in passing, takedowns, and submissions. These metrics impact your VS Rating.).
- Match History (Browse all your matches with match-outcome data and video for each match)
- Fighter Information (Your personal bio)
- Social Media Links (We all gotta grow that fanbase, right?)
- VSME friends, notifications and friend requests.
- Footage (Upload your competition or training footage - or whatever footage you want)
Plus more!
Every competitor earns points in our events just for participating. Earn enough points to move the leaderboard and win amazing prizes.
We use use skill-based and gender-based matchmaking.
We award points to fighters based on match outcome (submission vs points) and fighter differences (weight, rank, and gender). Points are updated on our leaderboard.
That means that if you get matched against someone much better, you have nothing to lose! If you're a higher belt, however... hide your arms.
For details on the competition rules, click here.
Additional to your two matches per division, you can call out anyone else who registered for the event.
Calling out and accepting call-outs is optional and unlimited. Call-outs will continue until the three hours allotted to the event are over.
Call-outs count towards your Season points and VS Rating.
We are the only ones providing this type of experience in a competitive setting. #Humblebrag
Skill and gender-based matchmaking is a fancy way of saying that we use clever algorithms that factor your weight, your jiujitsu rank, your gender, and your VS Rating to match you up with someone of similar size and skill.
This allows us to run events even if only a few competitors registered without distributing points unfairly. We believe this makes events more exciting!
If you don't want to be paired with someone from the opposite gender for personal or religious reasons - we get it. There is an option in the registration process to discretely let us know you'd rather not be paired with the opposite sex. But rejecting a call-out from someone of the opposite gender is all on you!

When you purchase a ticket just select 'no' and you will be matched with someone of the same gender guaranteed. And no, no one will know how you answered the question when purchasing a ticket.
Every Season is different when it comes to prizes.
Sometimes our sponsors donate prizes for every event - which is what we always strive for.

Part of what we are trying to do is create more inclusive events for females to get competitive rolls.
Our platform allows women to be matched up with men or women, including call-outs, which gives them the experience they are constantly looking for.
However, competing against men is optional. There is an option to discretely let us know you'd rather not be paired with the opposite sex. But rejecting a call-out is all on you!
We have been featured in articles around the world, Including BJJ Eastern Europe, for our inclusive co-ed competitions.
Check out this clip with over 1mm views from one of our co-ed matches!
